Bio

Suvrat Raju in front of a blackboard

I studied at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya (1993-1999), St. Stephen’s College (1999-2002), and Harvard (2002-2008), where I got my PhD. I worked at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute (2008-2012) for a few years. I now work at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences, which is part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.

Obviously, none of my views on this site have anything to do with the official positions of these institutions.

I’ve lived in several places including Pune, Indore, Delhi, Boston, Mumbai and Allahabad, and now Bengaluru.

I work in theoretical physics; my research is in the area of quantum gravity and quantum field theory. Recently, I’ve also been interested in AI for Science and Science for AI. If you are a student, or someone else looking to contact me for academic reasons, you should see my home page at ICTS for more details.

I’m also an activist, and the (incomplete) list of articles on this site may help to give you a sense of my views on various issues.

You can find some more personal details in this interview or download a brief cv.
